After months of planning, the third Worthington Library will open on April 16, 2008.  Designed to serve the northeast area of the Worthington School District, the Worthington Park Library is located at 1389 Worthington Centre Drive, near the intersection of Worthington Galena Road and Park Road, and will be open 70 hours per week.

The new library will have more than 20 computers and a collection of over 18,000 items.  It will have a reservation section, a self-checkout desk and a 24-hour book drop. One of the most innovative features of this library will be the Homework Help Center which will provide homework help and library guidance Monday through Thursdays from 3 p.m. until 6 p.n.

In addition to the opening of the new library, the Old Worthington Library and the Northwest Library have been undergoing a facelift.  Carpeting, shelves, computers, adult, teen and children's spaces are all being updated to better serve the library patrons.  The staff has spent numerous hours exploring and critiquing other libraries in order to provide the newest and best services.  All renovations should be completed by the fall of 2008.
