SERVICE DAY IN WORTHINGTON!
by Lynn Nadler
Saturday, May 3, 2009 is the annual Leadership Worthington Service day. Service Day began fifteen years ago as the service project for one of the Leadership Worthington classes. Each class is required to develop a project that will benefit the Worthington community.
Service Day occurs on the first Saturday in May and is designed to help those in the community who need help around their homes with such things as trimming, planting flowers, washing windows, etc. The recipients are often senior citizens or disabled adults who no longer can do yard work or heavy housework. As many as 1-- volunteers participate in this event and they may do over 100 small and large projects.
On Saturday, volunteers will meet at Kilbourne Middle School for breakfast and to receive their assignments. They will work from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. all over town. For further information, please contact Leadership Worthington at 614-883-3507.
