by Lynn Nadler
The Worthington Food Pantry and Resource Center is located at 445 E. Dublin Granville Rd, in Worthington, Ohio. The center is open on Monday 9-11am, Wednesday 4-6pm and Saturdays 1-3pm. Staff members can be contacted at 614-985-1766 or at worthingtonfoodpantry@gmail.com.
The WFPRC distributes food and personal items to individuals or families in need in the Worthington area. Its stated objectives are:
-To distribute food and personal items to individuals and families
-To provide educational brochures and referral information
-To inform the community on needs of individuals and families
The CWFPRC appreciates contributions of food or money. Requested items include fruit juices, canned fruits in natural juices, soups, whole wheat pastas, canned fish, granola bars, cereals, diapers, shampoo, laundry detergent and toilet paper. (For a detailed list of food or personal items needed or to set up a food drive, please go to the website.)
Another way to contribute to the CWFPRC is to donate your time. Volunteers help in many ways, including stocking shelves, breaking down boxes, collecting donations, organizing food drives and distributing information throughout the community.
In addition to the Center itself, donations can be dropped off on Saturday mornings at the Worthington Farmers Market. Collection boxes are also located at the Worthington Community Center and the Worthington Libraries.
