CLINTONVILLE / BEECHWOLD
Between the Ohio State University campus area and the town of Worthington are the established villages of Clintonville and Beechwold. Tree-lined streets, older homes with character and the proximity to Ohio State and downtown Columbus make these communities popular with young families, university faculty and empty nesters who enjoy an old-fashioned yet cosmopolitan atmosphere.
These communities are all served by the Columbus Public School system, as well as several highly regarded parochial and private schools. The population of the Columbus Public Schools is large and diverse, as are the programs offered to its students. In addition to the traditional schools, there are many alternative schools offering students the opportunity to concentrate on special interests such as science, the arts and foreign language immersion.
Neighboring communities like Indian Hills, Sycamore Hills and The Knolls offer a more suburban-type of setting with larger lots and more recent homes.
Residents have access to numerous parks and recreational facilities, including Antrim Lake and the famous "Park of Roses", as well as the well-traveled Olentangy-Lower Scioto Bikeway. Shopping, theaters and cultural and sporting events are all within close range
Home-buyers will find excellent values in this part of the city, with modest Beechwold homes priced from the $90K's to the $500K's for stately homes on the west side of Clintonville and the Olde Beechwold area.
