After months of preparation, the chairs, tables, books and, most importantly, the visual aspects of the children's space at all three of the Worthington Library branches are complete!
The Library staff worked with well-known artists and children's book illustrators to add whimsical characters to the library. They have chosen famous characters such as Spot, the Dog, the Big Bad Wolf, the Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, characters from Winnie the Pooh, Madeline and many, many more. The result is a magical area for children to enjoy during story time or when looking for new books.
The children's area is just one of the many parts of the Library that have been renovated and updated over the past year. The Library has also added many additional computer stations, completely updated the "Teen Space", reduced the size of the help desk and added "roaming librarians" and added more study rooms plus new paint, new carpet and lots of new furniture.
On Saturday, December 6, 2008, the Library will be hosting an open house so that all patrons can stop in and see all the improvements. We hope you'll stop by!
