Originally part of Marble Cliff, Grandview Heights became a separate village in 1906 and a city in 1931. Self-contained, and located between Upper Arlington and Dublin, Grandview Heights maintains its own police and fire departments, its own school district, and other city services. Close to downtown Columbus, it has a small town feel while being just moments away from the big city.
Grandview Heights offers mature, tree-lined neighborhoods with stately homes, family-filled suburban neighborhoods, as well as apartment and condo communities. From historic homes to modern brick and stucco condos, there are homes to fit everyone’s needs and tastes.
Arts & Culture
Offering 4 parks with outdoor art and public performance space, Grandview Heights is a typical small town. Once you add the Wexner Center for the Arts just moments away on OSU’s campus, and the galleries and museums offered by the capital city, Grandview begins to look far more sophisticated than your average Ohio small town!
The renovated historical “Bank Block” was one of the first commercial areas in Grandview Heights in the early 20th century. True to its roots, Grandview now offers a variety of choices in fashion-forward boutiques, and ready access to big city shopping in downtown Columbus.
With a locally owned coffee house on nearly every corner, to breweries offering great menus and house-brewed refreshments, to dozens of local restaurants such as Local Cantina, Sweet Carrot, Figlio, and Balboa, there is a dining spot for every craving.
Grandview Heights is one of the smallest school districts in the area, as well as one of the oldest. With a high degree of community and parent investment, GHCSD offers low student-to-teacher ratios, with a ton of opportunities in athletics, extracurriculars, and a nationally ranked library system available to students, Grandview Heights has a lot to offer despite its size. 98.8% of high school students graduate, and over 90% go on to college. View the state report card for the district at the Ohio Dept of Education website.
Grandview Heights offers small town living in a setting just moments from The Ohio State University campus and a few minutes from downtown Columbus. A thriving small business community is valued and encouraged, while arts and culture opportunities abound.
